Meet Our Teachers

John Green

Secondary Maths Teacher

After graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Mathematics and Statistics, I spent one year as a teaching assistant in Malaysia. It was here I decided to go back to the UK and train to become a teacher. I have spent the last five years teaching Mathematics both in the UK and in Kuwait. Teaching has always been an enjoyable job and I spend a lot of time and effort on making sure that Mathematics lessons are enjoyable and interactive so that students can have a passion for learning, and effectively motivate themselves to develop into independent learners. I have good experience of taking children on residential trips, examples include: taking students to the rainforest in Borneo, taking students from Kuwait to Paris, leading summer camps in Romania and Germany and being involved in practice and assessed expeditions both in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. My main passion in life is to travel, seeing different countries and meeting new people from varied cultures, experiences and backgrounds. I am fortunate enough to say I have travelled to Myanmar before and I am extremely excited about living in Yangon and meeting the staff and students at Network International School.
