Barbara Freeman

I have worked in a variety of musical teaching roles in both primary and secondary international schools for over twenty years in Canada, New Zealand and Korea. For nine years I was Head of Music Faculty at Wentworth College in Auckland where I was responsible for whole school music and setting up the music department from its foundation. Most recently I have been Lead Practitioner for Music at a British International School in Seoul where I have been responsible for teaching KS1 and KS2. I am skilled as both a performer and composer with my main instrument being piano, but I am also a keen singer and play a collection of woodwind and brass instruments. My qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Music, B.Ed degree (specializing in Band Programmes), Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Grade 10 Piano Performance Examination (RCM). My passion is musical performance and I have been heavily involved in Music Festivals, Recitals, Musical Theatre, Competitions, ABRSM /Trinity College Examinations and Drama Productions, something I am very excited to enrich and further develop at Network International School. I have both Canadian and New Zealand citizenship and I love art, travel, spending time with my daughter and taking my dogs for a walk. I am absolutely delighted to have Briana, my 9 year old daughter at Network International School.
