Teaching & Learning
Meet Our Staff
Foundation 2 LadyBirdsI am a compassionate and driven teacher and I am looking forward to a new teaching year and to living in Yangon. This is my fourth-year teaching. The majority of my teaching experience comes from teaching Grade 1 (Year 1) at a Thai Private School in Thailand. I also have experience teaching Kindergarten 2 (EYFS) in an American International School in Thailand. I majored in Sociology and Psychology at Rhodes University and then went on to complete my Honours Degree in Sociology. After completing my degree, I decided to do a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Rhodes University and was chosen to go on exchange to Switzerland for my teaching practical. As a teacher, my primary goal is to create a child-centred, positive, empowering, safe and nurturing learning environment within which I can engineer learning experiences to teach the skill of learning and to create a foundation for my students to be life-long learners in the knowledge that my students are active participants in their learning. In the words of Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” I aim to make learning a habit in my classroom as well as in my life and the lives of my students. I look forward to learning together this year!
