Sara Willis

Year 1 Owls & KS1 Leader

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychological Studies at Glasgow University and then attended the University of Strathclyde to complete my PGDE in Primary Education. Following these qualifications, I taught in several UK schools before moving to Yangon in 2016 to work here at Network International School. I have had the pleasure of teaching in Years 2, 4 and 6 during my time at the school and have loved getting to know all of the children and staff. As English lead at the Primary school, I have a key focus of nurturing a love of literacy in our students and have worked alongside the team to develop the school’s library and organise successful book weeks. I believe passionately that reading is the gateway to so many other subject areas and that successful readers go on to be successful students. I am also lucky to have been able to pursue another interest of mine through my work with the Primary Choir. I have supported our talented students in performances at the Christmas shows, Art shows and the Yangon Honor Choir. Living in Myanmar has been a wonderful privilege for me and each year I have been here I have travelled to new corners of this beautiful and welcoming country. I look forward to discovering new places to visit as well as returning to some old favourites.
