Network Spelling Bee Triumph
On Saturday 23rd March, 12 Network students headed to BISA School for the 2019 interschool Spelling Bee. It was an intense but exciting day; not long after we arrived, the children were whisked away into an auditorium where they were given 30 challenging words to spell. Due to the fierce competition, only the children who got all of the spellings correct made it to the final round. Although every child who went from Network did a fantastic job, only two made it into the final 20. Amara (Year 5 Chameleons) and Alexis (Year 5 Geckos) went up against 18 other children in the verbal spelling round. In front of a room full of people, they were asked to spell various words that were not on the given spelling sheet. Alexis did a fantastic job and came in the top 9. In a nail-biting finale, Amara went head to head with 3 other children and went on to win the whole contest! Taking home first place for herself and Network School.
A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all and many students are already considering next year's competition, with one keen student asking for the spelling list for the senior event!
