Network International School Yangon Achieves Prestigious British School Overseas Accreditation, a First in Myanmar

Yangon, Myanmar - 21st March 2024 - Network International School is very proud to announce its accreditation by the British School Overseas (BSO) and the UK Department for Education (DfE), marking a significant milestone as the first and only school in Myanmar to achieve this esteemed accreditation.

Network International School Yangon - BSO Accreditation

The BSO accreditation is a rigorous process conducted by the UK Department for Education to ensure that British schools operating overseas maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and safeguarding. It ensures that schools maintain the same high standards as UK independent schools.

By achieving BSO accreditation, Network International School demonstrates its commitment to providing a British-style education of the highest quality in Myanmar. It aligns our educational practices with those of prestigious schools in the UK, ensuring that our students receive an education that is on par with their peers studying in the UK.

With the BSO accreditation, Network International School has now joined an elite group of only 11 schools in South East Asia being fully certified by the UK Department for Education, such as Harrow International School Bangkok, Rugby International School Bangkok, and Regents International School Pattaya. This remarkable achievement underscores the recognition of our education quality among the highest standards globally. It is also a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire school community.

"It was so refreshing to see a non-for-profit school, fully focused on its student’s holistic education and well-being. There was a real sense of pride, belonging, commitment and mutual respect amongst the community. Network International School clearly takes the best interest of children in all of their decision making.” shared a BSO Inspector.

This accreditation reaffirms Network International School's dedication to excellence and its alignment with global educational standards. Parents can have confidence in the quality of education provided by Network International School, knowing that it meets the stringent criteria set forth by the UK Department for Education.

For students, BSO accreditation offers numerous benefits, including access to a curriculum that is recognised and respected worldwide, as well as opportunities for international collaboration and exchange programmes. Additionally, BSO-accredited schools uphold strict standards of child protection and safeguarding, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students to develop and thrive.

"We are absolutely thrilled to receive BSO accreditation, and are now the first and only school in Myanmar to have achieved this. We have been recognised as delivering a standard of education comparable to independent schools in the UK. This places us amongst the elite schools across the globe." Mr Stephen Buckland, Principal of Network International School shared.

Network International School looks forward to leveraging its BSO accreditation to further enhance the educational experience for its students and continue its mission of empowering future leaders and global citizens through excellence in education.
