Preschool Enrolment

Clothing and Shoes
Movement plays an important part in a young child's development. We like to see children using their gross motor skills; running, jumping, climbing, balancing, etc. Therefore, we request that parents send their children in suitable clothing and shoes for these activities. High heels are dangerous for ankles when running. Trainers with Velco fastening are ideal (please no lace-ups for the under 4s).

We also like to see children in the “messy play” areas – finger painting, clay modeling, sand and water. These area are extremely beneficial for social as well as pre-writing and maths skills. Children make friends very quickly while playing alongside each other in these areas. Shorts and T-shirts are ideal.

Please send along a spare set of clothes each day.

SWIM WEAR and a towel are needed once a week and if your child needs sun screen please see the class teacher. We powder each child after swimming and dry their hair.

Sickness
Please do not send your child to school if they have diarrhoea fever or any unusual spots on their body which may be contagious. When your child is sick please inform the school. If your child is unwell or injured during school hours we will contact you to collect them. It is important to advise us of your contact details and medical emergency requests.

Library Time
Learning to read is such a vital role in developing your child's mind. We encourage each child to spend time reading and looking at books daily. Every Friday we have a borrowing programme where each child chooses their own books from our resourceful library to take home for the weekend.
PLEASE RETURN ALL BORROWED BOOKS ON MONDAY.

Snack Time
Children need to bring their own healthy snack and water bottle to school. We request that parents do not send candy, chocolate or fizzy drinks. Candy is a choking hazard when children are running around. If your child is on a special diet or has allergies, please inform the class teacher.
